The college has started the “Trading Club” with the aim of providing basic ideas on the capital market and giving practical experience to its members. The membership is open to all Commerce students in the college.
The vision is to spread knowledge of the capital market as an investment avenue among college students and to provide knowledge on the fundamentals of investments and market analysis. Also to give guidance to become a good investor.
The trading club implemented various programs during the last academic year, major programmes includes as below:

Mr. Syamraj focused on the risk & return part of stock market trading and how the trade can be done with a long-term return. He also showed some models for predictions and portfolio optimization. |
3 | Online Trading, A Beginners Guide to Stock Market | A practical session was conducted on ‘Online Trading’. Trading club student coordinator Mr. Jassir Hussain, student of V sem B Com Finance, presented the topic and Mr. Muhammad Jaseel, student of V sem B Com Finance, lead the practical session. Some of the indicators were explained during the practical session and Tata Motors share were purchased using Zerodha platform. |
4 | A Introduction to the World’s Largest Financial Market | The session was led by Mr. SHARUKH, Data Administrator at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA, IAS Academy), and forex trader and mentor.Mr. Sharukh initially make aware of the students about FOREX and shared his own experience and the challenges he faced during his journey as a trader. The foreign exchange (also known as forex or FX) market is a global marketplace for exchanging national currencies. Because of the worldwide reach of trade, commerce, and finance, forex markets tend to be the largest and most liquid asset markets in the world. Currencies trade against each other as exchange rate pairs. He gave an introduction to the forex market, opportunities, challenges, and risk factors to become a successful trader in the forex market. He highlighted the terms ‘Patience’ and ‘Risk Management’ will be the two key factors for the success of a trader, Mr. Sharukh presented the whole session in an understandable and presentable manner. |
5 | Tribute to Rakesh Jhunjhunwala | Organized a session, ‘Tribute to Rakesh Jhunjhunwala”, as a part of which Financial Market Quiz Competition & Documentary Screening were held.Rakesh Jhunjhunwala (5 July 1960 – 14 August 2022) was an Indian billionaire and business magnate, stock trader, and investor. He is popularly known as Indian Warren Buffet. He started investing in 1985 with a capital of just ₹5,000 and at the time of his death he had an estimated net worth of $5.8 billion, and he is positioned as the 438th richest person in the world. He has been running his own asset management firm called ‘Rare Enterprises’. Besides being an active investor, he served as chairperson and director of several companies. He recently entered into airline business and started airline company called ‘Akasa Air’. He was widely known for his stock market predictions and bullish outlooks.In the competition, first prize was won by Anshid P & Muhammed Safeer of 5th Sem Bcom Finance and the second prize was won by 2 teams Althaf PT & Fuhadheen of 5th Sem Bcom Taxation and Mohammad Yaseen & Muhammed Abdul Basith of 5th semester BA Economics. |
6 | ‘Kona Kona Shiksha’-A Certificate Course on Fundamentals of Investment | Organized a certificate course on Fundamentals of Investment in collaboration with the National Institute of Security Market (NISM), an educational institution of SEBI (Security and Exchange Board of India). 7 | Mastering the Markets: Your Guide to Navigating Financial Market Success | Organized a session on ‘Digital Trading’ in collaboration with Stolox Trading Malappuram. Mr. Anees. T, Co-founder & Mentor at Stolox Trading, led the session. It was a one-day programme, held on 20 July 2023. Mr. Anees. T spoke on the importance of the forex market, which is the biggest financial market in the world, working 24×7. The main aim of the programme was to provide participants with valuable insights into navigating financial market success through digital trading. As a highly informative and interesting session, it provided attendees with valuable knowledge and strategies related to digital trading in the financial markets. |
The establishment of the Trading Club by the college aims to equip students with foundational knowledge and practical experience in the capital market, fostering a culture of informed investing. Through diverse programs like presentations, expert talks, and practical sessions, the club has successfully provided insights into stock exchanges, computational finance, online trading, and even the forex market. These initiatives not only educate members but also emphasize the importance of risk management and patience, essential elements for success in financial markets, thus empowering students towards becoming proficient investors.
