Career Guidance Sessions

1. Careers in Arabic

The Centre for Competitive Examinations (CCE), Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, organised an orientation programme titled ‘ Discover Your Path: Endless Opportunities in Arabic Careers’ on 16 January 2024, at 9:00 a.m. in the Seminar Hall. The session was handled by Mr. Irshad. K, Assistant Professor of Arabic.

The program aimed to help students understand career prospects in Arabic and provide them with insights into the skills required to succeed in the field. The session covered various aspects of careers in Arabic, explaining different opportunities such as international business and trade. Moreover, it highlighted opportunities in various organizations, NGOs, the government sector, the private sector, and in the field of teaching. The session, which benefited 73 students, concluded with an interactive session in which students clarified their doubts and engaged in discussions.

2. Careers in Sports

The Centre for Competitive Examinations (CCE), Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, organised a session on ‘Game- Changing Future: Explore Careers in Sports’ on 27 March, 2024, at 09:45 am in the Seminar Hall. The session was handled by Mr. Vibin Das. C. P, Head, Department of Physical Education.

During the presentation, he emphasized the multitude of opportunities available in the sports industry even after completing a degree. From coaching and sports management to sports journalism and sports marketing, there exists a wide array of career paths for individuals passionate about sports and equipped with a degree. The session aimed to inspire students to explore diverse avenues within the sports sector and leverage their educational backgrounds to pursue fulfilling careers. 63 students benefitted from the session.

3. Careers in Banking

The Centre for Competitive Examinations (CCE), Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, organised an orientation programme titled ‘ Careers in Banking Sector: An Orientation Program ‘ on 28 March 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in the Seminar Hall. The session was handled by Ms. Rajashree. V, Assistant Professor, Department of commerce.

The programme aimed to help students understand the career prospects in the banking sector and provide them with insights into the skills required to succeed in the field. The session covered various aspects of careers in the banking sector and the exams required to be cleared for them. She explained the different exams required for various positions in the banking sector, such as IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, IBPS SO, SBI PO, SBI Clerk, etc. and discussed the exam pattern, syllabus, and the selection process. The session concluded with an interaction session in which students interacted and clarified their doubts.

4. PSC Orientation Session

The Centre for Competitive Examinations (CCE), Al Shifa College of Arts and Science (ACAS), organised a session on ‘PSC Orientation for 1st Year Students’ on 20 March, 2024 at 10:45 am in Lecture Hall 06. The session was coordinated by Mr. Irshad Ameen. K, Assistant Professor of Commerce, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, and Coordinator, CCE.

The session was facilitated by faculties from the Department of Commerce, including Mr. Muhammed Yaseen, Mr. Vineeth. U. V, Ms. Mekha. C. M, and Mr. Midhulaj, Assistant Professor of English, ACAS. 80 students benefitted from the programme.

The session aimed to familiarize students with the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), and Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), providing them with valuable insights and guidance for future career prospects.

The Centre for Competitive Examinations (CCE), Al Shifa College of Arts and Science (ACAS), organised a session on ‘Scholarship Exams’ for 1st Year Students’ on 25 March, 2024 at 10:30 am in Seminar Hall. The session was coordinated by Mr. Irshad Ameen. K, Assistant Professor of Commerce, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, and Coordinator, CCE.

The session was led by Mr. Anjel Juman, Assistant Professor of Economics. 52 Students benefitted from the session. During the session on scholarship exams for first-year students, Mr. Anjel Juman covered a range of standardized tests including TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, SAT, and GMAT. He discussed the significance of these exams in academic and professional pursuits, explaining the differences between them.

7. Session English Grammar

The Centre for Competitive Examinations (CCE), Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, organized a session named ‘മത്സരപരീക്ഷകളിലെ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്’ on 08 January 2024, at 12:00 PM in the Lecture Hall. The session led by Ms. Renjitha. K. R, Assistant Professor of English, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science.

During the session, the speaker delved into the coverage of different areas, focusing on the types of sentences and the interchange of sentences. The aim was to shed light on crucial aspects of English grammar, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding. The session, which benefited a total of 23, emphasized the significance of mastering grammar fundamentals, particularly for individuals preparing for competitive examinations.

The Centre for Competitive Examinations (CCE), Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, organized a session named ‘മത്സരപരീക്ഷകളിലെ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്’ on 15 January 2024, at 12:00 PM in the Lecture Hall. The session led by Ms. Adithya. S, Assistant Professor of English, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science on a topic, ‘Master Competitive Exams with Question Tag Brillance’.

The English session for degree students, cantered on question tags and tailored for competitive exams, was conducted successfully, directly benefiting for the 21 students. The interactive session provided a comprehensive understanding of question tags, emphasizing their application in competitive exams. Students actively participated, engaging in discussions and practicing question tag constructions. The session aimed to enhance both grammatical proficiency and exam-oriented language skills, contributing to the students’ overall preparation for competitive assessments.

8. Session on Malayalam

The Centre for Competitive Examinations (CCE), Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, organised a session named ‘കൃതികളും കർത്താക്കളും’-മത്സരപരീക്ഷകളിലെ മലയാളം on 12 December 2023, at 9:30 AM in the Lecture Hall 8. The session was handled by Mr. Midhulaj. P, Assistant Professor, Dept. of English, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science.

It was a second session on Malayalam Language and Literature for competitive examinations. In the latest programme, participants engaged in an enlightening exploration of Malayalam Grammar fundamentals crucial for competitive exams. The subsequent session took a literary turn, focusing on Malayalam Novels, Autobiographies, Biographies, and Short Stories. The in-depth analysis extended beyond the texts, shedding light on the notable authors and their contributions. This well-rounded approach aimed to empower attendees with a comprehensive grasp of both language structure and the rich tapestry of Malayalam literature, catering to the demands of competitive examinations.

The Centre for Competitive Examinations (CCE), Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, organised a session named ‘മത്സരപരീക്ഷകളിലെ മലയാളം’ on 15 November 2023, at 11:30 AM in the Conference Hall. The session was handled by Ms. Febeena, Assistant Professor, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science.

During the session, she spoke on various important topics related to fundamentals of Malayalam Grammar. The session aimed to provide a solid foundation on the basics of Grammar part in Malayalam Language which is essential for various competitive examinations.

The session was handled by Ms. Febeena, Assistant Professor, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science.

During the session, she spoke on various important topics related to fundamentals of Malayalam Grammar. The session aimed to provide a solid foundation on the basics of Grammar part in Malayalam Language which is essential for various competitive examinations. 21 students benefited from the programme.

9. Session ICT

The Centre for Competitive Examinations (CCE), Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, organised a session on ‘ICT Essentials for Competitive Examinations’ on 24 January, 2024, at 10:45 am in the Lecture Hall. The session was handled by Mr. Farhan. V. M, Head, Department of Computer Science.

During the session, he spoke on various important topics related to Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The session aimed to provide a solid foundation on the basics of ICT, which is essential for various competitive examinations. 30 students benefited from the session, with a particular focus on the intricate aspects of the Number System.

10. Session on Mathematics

The Centre for Competitive Examinations (CCE), Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, organised a session on ‘Beyond Equations: Excelling in Competitive Mathematics’ on 14 March, 2024, at 10:45 am in the Lecture Hall. The session was handled by Ms. Mini V. K, Head, Department of Commerce.

During the session, various crucial aspects of sense of direction in mathematics were covered. The session aimed to establish a basic understanding of the fundamentals of spatial orientation, which is important for various competitive examinations.

11. PSC Registration Workshop

The Centre for Competitive Examinations (CCE), Al Shifa College of Arts and Science (ACAS), organised a PSC Registration Camp for degree Students’ on 08 January to 25 January 2024 in the Computer Lab. The session was coordinated by Mr. Irshad Ameen. K, Assistant Professor of Commerce, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, and Coordinator, CCE. 50 students benefited from the session.

12. Session Faculty Interaction on Upcoming PSC

The Centre for Competitive Examinations (CCE) at Al Shifa College of Arts and Science organized a session on the ‘PSC Pulse: Faculty Talk’ on January 18, 2024, at 10:10 am in Lecture Hall 02.

The session focused on facilitating interactions among faculties and participants, primarily covering crucial aspects related to the upcoming PSC Exams. The participating faculties actively engaged in discussions about exam strategies, sharing valuable tips and tricks for maintaining continuous and steady preparation. During the session, a total of 10 faculties took part in the interactive discussions, contributing their expertise and perspectives on the various challenges and opportunities associated with PSC exams.

The session commenced with a welcome note by Mr. Irshad Ameen. K, Assistant Professor of Commerce, and concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Muhmmed Yaseen, assistant Professor of Commerce.
