The Under graduate research Cell at Al Shifa College of Arts and Science is a dynamic platform that empowers students to embark on research journeys and contribute to the scholarly community. Aims and Objectives:

The primary aim of an URC is to cultivate a research environment that inspires students to become active participants in the academic discourse. By equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge, URC strives to empower them to conduct independent research, communicate their findings effectively and make a lasting impact on their chosen fields of study.

Objectives:

• Create a conducive environment that encourages students to engage in research activities and explore their academic interests.
• Offer students a variety of research opportunities, including mentorship programs, independent projects, and collaborations with faculty and external organizations.
• Equip students with the necessary skills for conducting research, such as proposal writing, data analysis, academic writing, and presentation.
• Support student community within and outside the home college in publishing their research findings in academic journals, presenting their work at conferences, and sharing their knowledge with a wider audience.
• Encourage collaboration among students from different disciplines, fostering interdisciplinary research and innovation.
• Connect students with industry professionals and organizations, providing opportunities for internships, research placements, and collaborations.

Activities:

• The Undergraduate Research Cell of Al Shifa College of Arts and Science organized a series of impactful events throughout the academic year, fostering a culture of academic inquiry and scholarly engagement among students
• Our initiatives began with the prestigious ACAS UG Project Prize and the release of “Interdisciplinary Insights,” showcasing the innovative projects of our undergraduate students. These events set the stage for intellectual exchange and collaboration.
• The Pre-Seminar Workshops for the Al Shifa International Student Seminar (ALISS) provided students with essential skills and knowledge, preparing them for the big stage. Notably, our collaboration with MES KeVeeYam College expanded our reach and impact.
• Invited talks at Farook College and BYKAS College for Women highlighted our commitment to knowledge dissemination beyond our campus, inspiring students to pursue research and scholarly activities.
• Moreover, our workshops on research methodology equipped students with the necessary tools to navigate the intricacies of academic research, empowering them.
• The release of “afterwords: An interdisciplinary annual ejournal for graduates and undergraduates” and the seminar “All I did was Ask Questions: Reflections on a Research Journey” further enriched our academic landscape, providing platforms for students to share their scholarly contributions.
